Day 1 – Saturday, September 17:

3:00 Pick up at Florence Train Station
The villa is about an hour’s drive from Florence
Arrival at Villa Marciano
A tour of Villa Marciano and the grounds
Exploring & Settling In
6:00 Welcome Reception with Wine and Cheese Tasting
7:30 Dinner prepared by our personal chef

Day 2, Sunday, September 18:

9:00 Breakfast Buffet prepared by our personal chef
9:30 Italian Lesson with Nick
11:00 Enoteca di Fonterutoli for a tour, wine tasting
and light lunch featuring local specialties
Afternoon of relaxing by the pool, napping, strolling the grounds, or sipping a glass of Chianti and enjoying the amazing view from the villa
8:00 Dinner at the Villa prepared by our personal chef

Day 3, Monday, September 19 (15th Anniversary of Poggi Bonsi):

8:30 Italian Breakfast*
10:00 bus to Castellina in Chianti, time to explore.
12:30 Bus to Poggibonsi
1:30 Lunch in Poggibonsi at Osteria 1126
3:30 Bus to the Coop in Poggibonsi, a large grocery store, to select specialties for an evening picnic on the terrace.
4:30 Back to the villa to spend the afternoon relaxing at the villa
6:00 Italian Lesson with Nick
7:30 Group prepared picnic on the terrace

Day 4, Tuesday, September 20:

8:00 Italian Breakfast*
9:45 Bus departs Chianti wine tasting tour
10:30 Wine tasting and tour Fattoria Montecchio
1:00 Private tasting, and lunch at Campolucci,
the Manucci Droandi estate
3:30 Return to the Villa Marciano

8:00 Light Dinner on the terrace prepared

Day 5, Wednesday, September 21:

9:30 Bus to Volterra, time to explore
Lunch in Volterra, on your own
2:00 Bus to San Gimignano
Afternoon exploring San Gimignano, the village of towers,
a World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO site
6:00 Bus returns to Villa Marciano
8:00 Dinner at the Villa prepared by our personal chef

10:00 Visit Ceramiche Sial in Torreta di Siena
11:00 Bus to  Pienza to explore the capitol of Pecorino Cheese and a
World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO site
1:00 Bus to Montalcino
1:30 Lunch and wine tasting at Taverna di Baietto, the new restaurant at Enotecca di Piazza.
5:00 Bus to Villa Marciano
8:00 Light Dinner at the villa prepared by our personal chef

Day 7, Friday, September 23:

A day of relaxing at the villa
Optional small-group excursions
9:00 Breakfast Buffet prepared by our personal chef
Italian lesson with Nick
1:00 Picnic lunch by the pool
We will enjoy an afternoon of cooking lesson with Chef Barbara
of Bab’s Kitchen. We’ll help create an enjoy this fabulous Italian menu:

Home made Schiacciata bread
with roasted cherry tomatoes and rosemary

Home made Guitar spaghetti with bell pepper cream and pancetta

Pork loin wrapped in home made bread crust with florentine salad of arugula, pear, walnuts, shavings of Parmesan dressed
with extra virgin olive oil and honey

Day 8, Saturday, September 24:

Depart the villa by 9:30

*Italian breakfast is “cornetti” croissants filled with jam or cream, juice and coffee. A breakfast buffet is a sumptuous spread of fruit, meats, cheeses, bread and pastries.
