On March 8th is Carnevale, one of the biggest parties of the year in the Catholic world! More commonly known as Mardi Gras in America, this event has great cultural importance for Catholics and those who live in Catholic countries, and the Venice Carnival is famed for the antics of those who participate, the costumes and masks, and the parties. The Italian Club of the University of Washington is hosting an event to promote Carnevale and prepare for the main event (and also celebrate!)

All roads lead to Poggibonsi, or at least that’s what it appeared when one Renton business owner was lost in Tuscany more than 10 years ago.
And so Keli DeRitis convinced friend Michelle Codd that the name Poggi Bonsi, split for tongue-tied Americans, would be perfect for a European-style kitchen store.
The import-savvy business is among 20 other companies in the United States to take part in the Made in Italy national promotion this week.

Le Creuset French Ovens
Since 1925, Le Creuset has been handcrafting Enameled Cast Iron cookware, and particularly Round French Ovens (or Dutch Ovens), in Northern France. The cast iron provides superb heat retention and distribution, and the enamel is hard-wearing and non-reactive, plus it’s dishwasher-safe. These pots are extremely versatile and there are endless recipes that can be made in them, your imagination is the only limit!

Le Creuset Stoneware
The enameled surface of Le Creuset’s stoneware bakeware and accessories make them incredibly resistant to scratching, chipping, and staining. Poggi Bonsi carries a variety of baking dishes as well as adorable accessories like honey pots, syrup pitchers, salt jars and this new olive jar.
